Gallery Buckhead Condominiums Overview
Gallery is one of the newer high-rise condominiums to arrive on the scene in Buckhead. Designed by architects Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart and Associates Inc. and William T Baker, the building is a fantastic blend of contemporary and classical architectural stylings. While the exterior is almost entirely covered in bright-blue architectural glass, some of the concrete framework has been left exposed to define the building’s shape and provide texture. The additional concrete and stucco accents that cap the front half of the building also add to its distinctive look.
As you walk in the lobby, it becomes apparent immediately that Gallery Buckhead is aptly named. There you will find almost 2,000 sqft of space showcasing an extensive collection of original art work. The pieces are provided by 4 prominent art galleries and the exhibits are rotated periodically, giving the lobby an ever evolving look.
The exhibit space blends seamlessly into the formal section of the lobby, where the décor is sleek and modern. The stained wood panels accenting the TV wall give the lobby a sense of warmth that juxtaposes with the cooler marble floors. While I’m sure most people miss it, the ceiling features a series of large geometrical recesses that echo the clean, straight lines found in the rest of the lobby.
The concierge staff at Gallery Buckhead is friendly and polished, and they seem to know every homeowner by name. Security is tight and the building features secure underground parking and fob key access. Guests are asked to register after they’ve been buzzed in by the concierge staff. In addition to monitoring the buildings’ array of security cameras, the front desk also offers a variety of services including: dry-clean delivery, restaurant reservations, taxi and limo services, golf tee times, and housekeeping services.
Gallery Residences
Gallery Buckhead offers a variety of 2 and 3-bedroom floorplans as well as a handful of 1-bedroom units. The open floorplans are roomy and feature floor-to-ceiling windows that add to the sense of space and give the homes a very modern feel. Ceilings are finished with drywall and plaster instead of the exposed concrete that can be found in some nearby buildings.
Gallery’s kitchens are designed to be open and accessible and many of the 2 and 3-bedroom units feature free standing islands. When the building was being developed, homeowners had a choice of KitchenAid, SubZero, or Viking built-in stainless steel appliances. The kitchens are outfitted with granite countertops, under-mounted sinks, and elegant cherry or maple cabinetry. The bathrooms also feature granite countertops, dual vanities, framed mirrors, tiled floors, and “semi-frameless” showers. Gallery residences also have wide-plank hardwood floors throughout the kitchen and living areas.
The Views, the views, the views…
The views from Gallery are fantastic and unlike some of its neighbors, it’s not crowded out by any other buildings, so the views are expansive from every side of the building. Units on the east overlook the Cathedral of St. Philip and have unobstructed views all the way out to Kennesaw Mountain. Units that face south have fantastic views of Park Place and unobstructed views of Atlanta’s skyline. East facing units have views out to the horizon as well as the city skyline. Homes on the north side look directly up Peachtree Road into the heart of Buckhead.
Gallery’s Amenities
Gallery Buckhead has a wonderful set of amenities that are located on the 4th-floor. They included a terrace level pool and tennis court, as well as a fitness center complete with treadmills, ellipticals, and an assortment of free weights. The clubhouse is stylishly decorated and equipped with a large bar and outdoor grilling station. There is also a nicely appointed library that opens onto a small grass courtyard and sitting area. Additionally, Gallery Buckhead offers 3 furnished guest suites for visitors.
